Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering is Fun!Parent volunteerism is a cornerstone of the Hawthorne culture and we depend on thousands of hours of parent volunteer time every year! There are many volunteer opportunities for every person and every type of schedule. Our dynamic and dedicated parent body serves the mission at Hawthorne in a variety of ways, including participating on a committee, at events, in the classroom, and on the playground.

Share your unique talents and skills... organizational, catering, communications, technology, finance, social, etc.

Meet other parents, make new friends, and be part of our community!

We invite you to volunteer at our weekly lunchtime recess activities. The recess activities we have set up helps the students to relax/recenter themselves, as well as, build their social skills. We have set up some amazing choices for the students. They can get a chance to play in the: Lego station, giant board games, puzzles, arts and crafts and much more.

Activities take place from 11:30am-12:30pm for grades K-3 on the South Playground. The only way the program can sustain is, if parents volunteer their time. Please note, parents are to remain at the recess activity and are not allowed to walk their child to class.
