A Message From the President

Dear Hawthorne Families:

Welcome back to school!

On behalf of the PTA Executive Board, I would like to welcome all of you to the 2023-2024 school year. It’s my privilege to return as your PTA Executive Board President. The entire PTA Executive Board has been hard at work preparing for the upcoming school year continuing the amazing supplemental educational programs and extracurricular activities for the children.

As many of you may or may not know, your Hawthorne PTA is a non-profit organization that provides all of the funding for educational programs and extracurricular activities that are separate from and in addition to the general curriculum the children receive in school. These programs are not funded by the school district. So without your contributions and support, the PTA is not able to provide these programs for the children.

As a guideline, we are asking that each family contribute $550 per child attending Hawthorne. But everyone is free to contribute any amount they are comfortable with. In addition, equal to a monetary donation is also a donation of one’s time. We are always in need of volunteers.

It’s my personal goal to work with my fellow Executive Board to make this another memorable year for the Hawthorne students and families. Please feel free to reach out to me or any other member of the Executive Board if you have any questions, feedback or suggestions. We all have the same common goal of creating an enriching and positive environment for our children!
