Principal's Message

Dear Hawthorne Families,

On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, it is my pleasure to welcome families to Hawthorne Elementary School!   Whether you are new to our school or are returning, we are excited to have you and your child (or children) as part of our school family.

Hawthorne’s outstanding teachers create the foundation for your children’s academic success.  I am immensely proud of the Hawthorne School staff.  They work tirelessly year-round to ensure the success of all students.   At Hawthorne, we set clear expectations and goals at high levels.  We do this because we know that every member of our school community will work together to ensure that each individual achieves at the highest level.  Our goal district-wide is to see every student achieve one year’s growth in one year’s time.  Educational Excellence is a focus for all teachers and staff. 

At Hawthorne, we believe that the school staff and our families form a vital team, working together to assist our children in their academic and social-emotional growth.  Now, more than ever, we need the involvement of parents and community members.  We make Social-Emotional Learning and Connectedness one of our priorities for the year. 

As the year goes on, please lean on us and lean on each other when you need support.  Never be afraid to reach out to our staff with a question or concern.  We are relying on you to be our partners.  There are several ways as parents you can stay up to date with the many activities at Hawthorne. Please follow the PTA link on the Hawthorne website for information and membership.

We continue to push our students to follow the HERO expectations. Even virtually our staff is committed to teaching our students to be Honorable, Engaged, Responsible, and Open-Minded.  We are excited to continue with our school-wide assemblies every Wednesday morning.  Students and families will continue to learn more about being a Hawthorne HERO and see HEROs in action.
