Welcome to Kindergarten!

Hello! 

 

My Name is Karli Dugas and I'm thrilled to be teaching Kindergarten at Hawthorne. I started my career in 2019, but always knew teaching was my DREAM JOB! I graduated from UCLA with a  B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Education, and later received my teaching credential from CSUN.

 

Much of my experience comes from a lifetime of coaching young children in the sport of gymnastics, and growing up watching the best teacher do her thing...my mom. My teaching style is largely influenced from my time as a member of the UCLA Woman's Gymnastics Team. In our classroom, I love to incorporate high energy, enthusiasm, hard work, and just a touch of dancing (Ask your kids about "Doodles"), into all my lessons! When I'm not at school I love spending time with my Mom, Dad, and twin sisters Kelsi and Kayli, or heading off to Disneyland. Some of my hobbies include weightlifting/fitness, videography, hiking, rock climbing, baking, and gymnastics.
